PA1 Manual Notes

The PA-1 was replaced by the PA-2 in 1999. The instruction manual linked below is for the PA2 which is very similar to the PA1, excluding the exceptions listed below.

Both units have an amp unit or control box, and a sensor. The sensor units are identical.

There are 2 key differences between the PA1 and the PA2.

1) The PA1 supports 2 aileron servos going into separate receiver ports, thus supporting aileron differential and flaperon.

The PA2 does not have 2 separate ports for aileron servos, so models with 2 aileron servos will need to use a y-harness in line before the PA2.

2) The PA2 has a gain adjustment on the unit itself for those modelers using radios without an auxiliary channel available to adjust the sensitivity of the unit. The PA1 has no such adjustment and requires a separate proportional channel on a dial on the transmitter to adjust the responsiveness of the unit.

DIFFERENCES TO NOTE FROM THE PA2 MANUAL FOR YOUR PA1:

1) Section 6, CONNECTION:

When using the PA2 instructions for the PA1 please note on section 6, Connection that if you are using a second aileron servo in channel 6 or 7 then you will plug that second servo into the 2nd aile port and plug the 2nd aile lead out of the amp unit into channel 6 or 7 on the receiver.

2) Section 7, CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT:

You do not have a sensitivity adjustment on your PA1. you will need to adjust the sensitivity channel on your transmitter to approximately 75-80% to follow the recommendations.
