I would like to purchase a 50 MHz module for my 12Z, do I need to send this into the service center to have it changed for me?

No, as with other Futaba radios, you will simply need to purchase a new module and receiver on 50 MHz, you will select the 50 MHz band channels once you power up your 12Z after installing it into your transmitter. A new module can be purchased only directly from the Futaba Service Center, and is not available through your hobby retailer.
