14MZ Radio System FAQ

My touch screen does not respond to my touch well, it seems as though I have to really push to get the menu to respond? Should I send this in to be repaired?

Before sending this in please read these precautions!

  1. Do not push too hard or the screen will break.
  2. Some elements (characters and pictures) on the screen are not active. If you touch an element that is not active the screen will not react.
  3. Do not use anything other than the stylus provided with the radio or your finger to touch the screen. Using another type of tool could break the screen.

Also before you send this in, I would recommend going into your System Menu, touch Display, then do a Screen Calibration. Just follow the instructions in your manual. You will not need to do anything other than touch and hold your stylus to the spot that has the cross hairs on it, you will do this five times, and once you have done this five times in the five different places. Once the last of the cross hairs has disappeared, you can then touch anywhere on the screen and it will take you back to the Display menu. It is recommended to do this WHENEVER you feel the screen is not operating correctly.

Also, please remember that the response time of your touch on a portion of the screen and the screen changing is not instantaneous; the reaction time will be a split second. The Calibration setting will not speed this up. Use this only if you feel that a harder than normal touch is required, or if when you try to enter a menu, you need to touch off to the side or top of the menu label you are trying to activate.
