14MZ Radio System FAQ

For the 14MZ, when doing a Pmix, there is a field titled SPEED. In this field, next to Out speed is one that says Slave. It can be set to either SLAVE or MASTER. The default setting seems to be SLAVE. This field is not pictured or mentioned in the manual. What does this setting do?

This function allows you to set the Speed In and Out of the slave servo you are using in your mix but only as you turn this mix off and on. It does not affect the delay or the mix in any other way.

Any easy way to see what this does is to have you set up a mix, with Master as Aileron, and Slave as Elevator.

1st going into the page you mention, set the mix to a switch (say switch A), set your speed in and out to a mid point of say 15 on both. Then at the Master box leave this as Slave. Now set your delay for 4 seconds both in and out.

With the mix off and the aileron stick fully right, flip switch A and note the 4 second delay before your elevator stick moves very slowly until it is equally linear to your Aileron stick. With the mix on, any movement of your Aileron stick will cause the slow movement of your Elevator. Again, with the aileron stick still fully deflected, flip switch A and turn the mix off. You will again see the Elevator delay for 4 seconds before it slowly moves to the center position.

2nd, change the Master box to Master, we are going to leave all of the settings (Speed and Delay) as they were. Now with the Aileron stick fully deflected, turn the mix on, you will see that Elevator moves very quickly until it is equally linear to the Aileron Stick. But with the mix active, the speed is still slowed for the slave servo. If you will fully deflect the Aileron stick again and turn the mix off, the Elevator will quickly return to its Neutral position.
