Find The Perfect Radio:

Radio System FAQ

How can I operate dual elevator or rudder servos using the 6X?

While this is possible, as briefly described in the 6X manual, it is not ideal. This entry level computer radio cannot offer you trim support from a mix, so using the trimmer on your radio would trim only the servo, for example, on channel 2, not that on channel 6, which would be a real problem. Also, the elevator dual rate switch MUST be on at all times or the mix is turned off and your model will, very likely, crash.

If, however, you do not need to be able to trim the servos together, you can complete this process as follows:

  1. Move all dual rates to the single switch:
    ___Arrow up to PARA
    ___Cursor over twice
___Press + key for DR SW type 2
  2. Set up a PMIX to mix from channel 2 to channel 5 (or whatever desired channels are):
    ___Arrow down to PMIX1
    ___Cursor over until INH blinks
    ___Press + key
___Cursor over so arrow is above channel 1 is blinking (this is the master channel selection). Press + so it blinks over your desired channel, in this case channel 2.
___Cursor over to select slave channel, press + until arrow blinks under 5.
___Cursor over to select direction of mix. If servos both operate the same direction, this should be positive.
___Cursor over to set the amount of the mix. Set it to 100% so they are identical (then adjust as needed to make travels match)
___Move the master channel stick so the R/U, L/D changes and set the second side of the % also. (in this example, push up elevator)
  3. Use the 2nd pmix to turn off the gear switch so the channels operate together properly. PMIX 5 to 5 -100% on both sides. What we are doing here is telling the radio to reverse any command given by channel 5's regular input, the switch, by doing exactly the opposite. so when the gear switch moves, the radio says 'mvoe the gear servo' and this mix says ' do exactly the opposite of the command to channel 5' so the gear servo does not move at all. Now the twin servos will operate in unison AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT turn off the elevator/mix switch or use the elevator trimmers.
    ___Cursor up to PMIX2
    ___Cursor over so inh blinks
    ___Press + to activate
    ___Cursor over to master channel
    ___+ to channel 5
    ___Cursor over to slave channel
    ___+ over to channel 5
    ___Cursor over to +/-
___Press - key to make minus
    ___Cursor over to %
    ___Press + until 100%
___Flip gear switch (or move channels dial if not using channel 5)
    ___Press + until reads 100%
___Cursor over until + sign is blinking and press -
