Radio System FAQ
How do I set up an elevator-to-flap mix with an airplane that just has 2 aileron servos, no true flaps?
Doing this is a 2-step process. Before we add any complexity, however, be sure your aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle servo are operating in the proper direction. If needed, use servo reversing to make them all operate properly.
First, we have to set up your two aileron servos, plugged into 1 and 6, as flaperons. This means they will work as regular ailerons for us and, when asked, will operate as flaps.
Then we will set up the actual 2-6 (elevator to flap) mix.
| GOAL: | STEPS: | INPUTS: |
| Set up dual aileron servos that can also be used as flaps (flaperons). | Select flaperon | Press 2 mode keys to open menu |
| Arrow up to FLPR (NOT FLTR) |
| Activate flaperon | Cursor over so INH blinks |
| Press the + key so ON blinks |
| Test servo action | Move aileron stick right and left |
| If the second aileron servo is operating in the wrong direction, go to REVERSE and reverse the channel 6 servo. Test direction again. |
| Set up Elevator-to-Flap mix | Select Elevator-to-flap | Arrow up 7 times to 2-6 |
| Activate the mix | Cursor over so INH blinks |
| Press the + key so OFF blinks |
| Pull the ELE-FLP switch toward you |
| ON now blinks. REMEMBER this switch MUST be on for this mix to operate. |
| Test servo action | Give full up elevator. Do the flaps go the correct direction? If not, cursor over once and press the - key to reverse the direction of the flap action from this mix. |
| Check degree of motion | Do the flaps move too far? Not far enough? Cursor over until the % sign blinks. Use the + or - key to increase or decrease until the desired degree of deflection is achieved. |
| Close the menu | Press the 2 mode keys. |
