Radio System FAQ

I am planning on purchasing/already have a 7C and I have heard of/found a problem with the timer function and the aileron ATVs? Is this correct and how should I proceed?

Early shipments of Futaba 7C transmitters had a difficulty with the timer function. In those transmitters, if the timer is set to be activated by the throttle stick, the aileron ATV would reset itself to 0%. This would result in zero aileron movement in one direction. Later shipments of Futaba 7C transmitters do not have this difficulty. If you find that your transmitter has this difficulty and you intend to use the timer on the throttle stick, the problem can be corrected through a temporary workaround by the user or a permanent modification made by the service department.

Temporary Workaround by User:
During the setup of the timer, if you do not press the dial switch after the throttle stick is selected, the aileron ATV will not reset. Just exit the function by pressing the "END" button. The timer will activate then the throttle stick is advanced beyond 1/2 throttle.

If you wish to have the timer activate as soon as the throttle stick is moved from the idle position, press the dial switch, then press "END". Now go to the "E.POINT" function and reset the aileron ATV to the correct percentage. Your timer will activate as soon as the throttle stick is moved from the idle position and your ailerons will operate normally.

Modification by Service Department:
If your transmitter has the timer difficulty and you would like it to be repaired, it can be sent to us to have the CPU replaced at no cost to you. You may contact us (if you are in the United States) for a prepaid mailing label for shipment to the service center.
