Radio System FAQ

I have an 8FG and have set up my plane, using two ailerons and two elevators. Ailevator is active and all throws are in the right direction with the correct throws. However when I go to my AFR screen and add Dual rates to my aircraft, the dual rates only work on the Aileron or Elevator, with Aileron 2 and Elevator 2 still at full movement. What is the correct way to set up the plane so that the dual rates work on both Ailerons and both Elevators?

If you have set your model Type as 2-Aileron, and your Tail type as Ailevator, you do NOT need to go into your function screen and change the function of Aileron 2 and Elevator 2, from Null to a stick position, this is VERY important. After you selected the model and tail type, go into your Model Menu and set up your D/R and Expo.

To set up the dual or triple rates, go to the "D/R" screen under the model menu. Select your control surface you want and then set your rate for normal flying including any expo you want. That sets position 1. Then cursor down to number 2 and select the switch and position you wish to have it operate it. Then go up and set the rate and expo for that position. Then cursor over to number 3 and so on for each rate you want to setup. Remember, you are only setting up your alternate rates for that control surface with the 2, 3, 4 and 5 positions. Do this for each channel and control surface rate you want to setup.

Then move the D/R switch for that control to the position you want to setup. Then set Rate A and Rate B to the amount of D/R you wish for that function. If you want that rate to also have an expo curve, then set the amount of expo. If you leave expo at 0% but change the % of the rates, you will have a linear dual rate. Once this has been done, both Elevators and both Ailerons should work with your Dual Rates.
