Radio System FAQ
I want to use flaperons with a 5-channel receiver. How can I do this?
The 9Z does not have pre-done programming to support a 5-channel receiver; however, this is still easily done. It simply requires an extra mix and to turn off the pre-programmed switch control of channel 5.
| Turn off the switch control of channel 5 so it does not operate like a gear servo. | Select Function (FNC) and Set Gear Channel Null Assignment | P B K O I P M M E M N R |
| Set-up Flaperon | Select Flaperon (FPN) and Make Active | O D H A F N R |
| {if flap trim is desired, go to next ('R) and set a % ('C—flaperons now trim on the left dial)} {adjust flap travel and aileron differential if desired} |
| Mix channel 6 to channel 5, causing channel 5 to obey the normal flaperon (ch 6) commands. | Select a Programmable Mix (PMX) and Activate (ACT), Flap Master (link on*) Gear Slave 100% each way 0% offset, No Switch | O B I F A F B J M C I D E R F Q F O C M D M N P I N N |
| (*must turn link on "inbound" for this mix to obey the flaperon mix) |
