Canadian Winter Nationals
Red Deer Canada, February 28-March 2, 2008
Team Futaba driver's Gary Guest and Rick McCrery swept the field in Pro Truggy and Expert 1/8th Scale Buggy at the recent Canadian Winter Nationals; placing 1st and 2nd in each class respectively. Gary also TQ'd all four rounds of qualifying in Truggy and TQ'd 1/8 Buggy as well!
Gary was running a 3PK Super with FASST module and receiver, BLS 351 brushless servo for steering and S9351 on the throttle of both cars. Looks like he had a real winning combination!
Congratulations to both drivers!
The 2nd Annual Motorama Nitro Event was held at The Farm Complex in Harrisburg PA. The race drew 266 Entrees to this event. Much Speculation had been brewing through to pit whether or not the program was going to be a success due to the problems that arose from last year's event, but the people at Competition Products did not disappoint.
The classes offered were Nitro Production Monster Truck, Pro Buggy and Pro Truggy. Buggy was the biggest class, and Team Futaba driver Chad Phillips TQ'd the event and took the win.
Congratulations to Chad for another great win!
1st Annual Psycho Nitro Blast
February 1-3 - Atlanta, GA

Team Futaba drivers Chad Phillips and Travis Phillips 1st and 2nd A-Main
Futaba Team Manager John Stokes attended this event and submitted the following report.
The track was HUGE! It took on average 58 seconds to one minute to complete a whole lap. The track had one huge jump that allowed drivers to jump 20 to 23 feet in the air. If you did it right, you would land on the downside of the ramp for the landing. But if you didn't, you could break. They also had a huge wall as part of the track. This was cool to see. Total entries for this event were 348. This was very good for this event's first time running.
Futaba drivers dominate Pro Class A-Main Buggy-
There were eighteen (18) drivers in this class. This is the highest number of drivers I've seen in the A-Main. Makes it a little crowded on the drivers stand. The huge jump and other track features caused a lot of hard pounding on equipment for the one hour race.
Team Futaba drivers Chad Phillips and Travis Phillips moved into first and after the leader had an equipment failure. Chad and Travis battled to the end, but Chad had one lap up on Travis at the conclusion of the hour. Chad came away in first place with 56 laps; Travis came away in second with 55 laps in one hour. It was a very good showing for Futaba and O.S. Engines, 1st and 2nd.
